Scholarship Award (Medium Banner Landscape)

The V.I.P. Pearls of Orange County, New York is an official interest group of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.® They are educated and professional members who are charter bound to bring the North Atlantic Region’s state of New York - Orange County a premier AKA chapter nestled in the picturesque Hudson Valley. The V.I.P. Pearls are committed to Soar F.I.R.S.T. with Impact in Sisterhood, Service and Scholarship under the leadership of multi award-winning President, Sonya D. Fiol-Grant.

Three scholarships will be awarded to three high school seniors in Orange County, New York school districts. The scholarship may not be renewed or postponed.

Completed applications including an official transcript, two letters of recommendation, and an essay must be received by the scholarship committee in one package postmarked by May 17, 2024. Please send supporting documents to:

Eligibility & Application Requirements

To be eligible for the V.I.P. Pearls of Orange County, NY Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the requirements.
Incomplete applications will not be considered for evaluation.
Applications must have authentic original signatures. Faxes will not be considered for evaluation.

Must be a graduating senior living in Orange County, New York.
Must use funds for undergraduate studies or school.
Must have a cumulative overall grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.5 or above.
Completed application and supporting materials are due by May 17, 2024.

Application Summary

All applications must be typed or clearly printed in blue or black ink.
Every blank in the scholarship application must be completed.
All applications must include an official high school transcript.
College acceptance letter(s)
Applicants must submit two (2) letters of recommendation (recommenders cannot be related to applicants):
- The letters of recommendation must be from a current/former teacher, guidance counselor, and/or principal who knows the academic capabilities of the applicant. Include the two (2) letters of recommendation in sealed envelopes with your completed application.
